My little hippy chick

I was sorting out the kids toy-boxes the other day and Danielle rediscovered her dolls clothes and carriers. So we all (Nathan included - no stereotyping here, he has his own doll too and likes to "carry" his toys as well) dressed bubba up - since it was a grotty cold day - in woollen longies and cardy and she wanted to wear her in the ABC (Asian Baby Carrier) I had done a rush job of sewing at the end of last year. She snuggled and kissed her and wore her for ages.

Hi there

Just linked here from a comment you left on Beansprouts (Melanie's blog) and am catching up on your previous entries. I agree that rediscovering toys is great. I was torn a few years ago when I started to declutter a bit and had to decide what to do with the cuddly toys I (still) had. I decided they were all going into the washing machine and any that survived that deserved to be kept. I have two large shopping bags full of cuddly toys and games which I now keep on hand for friend visiting with kids and which I lend to my sister when she comes home from France every summer for a month. I love to see the kids going through the bags every year and it's so interesting to see how their tastes change. This year my three-year-old niece fell in love with my care bear (birthday bear). I sent it to her a couple of weeks ago as her birthday present and she was apparently thrilled to have it. I think she has already gotten far more enjoyment out of it than I ever did!
