So, I've been thinking.
I pretty much stopped blogging here due to lack of interesting and new things to write about. Life was just humming along, doing it's thing. When I started this blog (A Satisfying Journey Towards Simplicity, which was a candid comment I made on an online forum about our lifestyle) back in 2007, I was embarking on a new way of life - or rather, I was doing more of what I believe in, only with more intent. Hence my desire to blog about it. It was fresh and exciting, and was a great way to connect with similar minded people out there in the blogosphere.
Alongside this blog, I was blogging about our unschooling journey, over at A Delight-Filled Life. So, I was compartmentalising my life somewhat. The reason I did that was so I wasn't clogging up this blog with homeschooling things we did, and it also gave me a place to connect purely with unschoolers (and often there was a crossover anyway).
But now, we're no longer un/homeschoolers. Danielle was curious about school, and after a month of still enjoying it, Nathan headed off there too. We kind of lost out spark when we had a foot in both camps. So, it all feels an end of an era, and after a bit of an unsettling period for me (only a little, afterall, I do believe in following the path that is presented to me) and it all seems to be working out well. Danielle's been at school for two months and Nathan for one.
So here I am again, blogging about the same stuff - but with a fresh frame of mind. I'll be combining our family adventures, crafts, outings and discoveries, with the content I have been writing about on this blog: permaculture gardening, medicinal herb garden, harvesting, seasonal celebrations, simple living, homemade cleaners etc. And I'm going to rename this blog A Delight-Filled Life because I feel that we're not on a journey so much anymore (which feels like we're going to get to an end), instead I'm wanting to focus on the here and now of this life that we are living every day, and is still a life of simplicity.
So, that's the (re)intro from me and I'll be back. I want to do a few catch-up posts of our summer and the start of autumn (but need to wait till tomorrow since I've run out of broadband lol).
Oh, and lookey there (just noticed my sidebar when I was searching on something), it's a new moon - a time for new beginnings!
