Storing the harvest

Ideally, the corn would have been processed on the same day as harvesting to keep them at their freshest. But anyway, we got around to it today.

Peeled, chopped, blanched, chilled, frozen.

We then moved on to making our way through the piles of produce awaiting processing. Squeezing some excess oranges to make ice blocks and then I cooked up a big batch of tomatoes as well. Beans can happen tomorrow once I figure out what to do.

Great stuff Nikki. Really good to see over your last few posts how youv'e found a groove for your new food life. I remember the fog of being amidst great food changes and the relief of coming out the other side into some kind of order and predictability.

aside: I'm reading "From One Prick to Another". What an important and valuable book.

Hi Nikki,
I don't have a blog but I do have a google account. I follow your blog and find it inspiring an informative. I am hoping to be invited to your other blog, 'Inhaling Life'.Is that possible and if so I'm not sure how to access it as I am not hugely savvy on the computer!
Thanks anyway.
Ingrid

Thanks Sandra! I'm reading that at the moment too, have had it on my shelf since it was published, but unread.

Hi Ingrid, I haven't actually got any readers on that blog as it's just a private journal thing (and it's mostly inactive) anyway.
