In holiday-preparation mode...

We're going away for a several nights, and very much looking forward to it. We haven't been away as a family since last September/October (Simon works all the days around Christmas/New Year and we generally like to stay around home over summer). We do usually get away for a winter holiday though!

We hadn't made plans to go away until a few weeks ago. We like to explore areas of NZ that we haven't been to before - so this time around we're heading to the Taranaki. A few years ago we did head up that direction, but by-passed New Plymouth to head further north. We have friends in Stratford, so will stop there for lunch and a catch up before heading into NP for our stay. I have compiled a list of about a dozen things I'd like us to get to! Not sure how achieveable that is in 3 whole days (we're away for 5 days), but we'll give it a go.

So, today's list of to-dos are:

~ Clean out the chicken coop and preparing it for us being away (my mum will come to check on them and collect "the egg").
~ Empty out the car of all the ... ummmm ... crap
~ Do our big fortnight grocery shop and decide what to take and what to just buy while away.
~ Give the house a tidy up and clean (I do like to come home to a nice looking house).
~ Get a map so I can mark out where we want to go!
~ Pack bags (kids already did theirs two days ago so I could make sure they didn't wear clothes that we needed).

Better get onto it then!

Have a great time away! Just been having a quick catch up on your blog and love the drumming, night walks, full moon tales, uke playing and your drawing (wow! very inspiring!). All the best, Sarah
