A beautiful autumn day, and a year older...

It was Danielle's 6th birthday last week.

What gorgeous autumn days we had leading up to the current southerly blowing through. I love autumn weather (well, those crisp mornings with the hot, blue-sky days). She was born on such a day, so it always warms my heart to get a strong reminder via the weather.

A photo of a photo. 4hrs old.
The day of her actual birthday was absent of wrapping paper...instead there was a cave full of treasures for her to discover.

This year she wanted a Tea Party. So, I set myself a challenge to make it an eco-friendly one (unfortunately I forgot about cloth napkins - but as luck would have it, no-one used them ;))

I decorated using my reusable paper lanterns and bunting. I bought a little set of "china" plates fitting for a tea party from the Hospice shop, sprinkled the table with petals from the garden and rounded up various other bits and pieces from around the house and we were good to go!

I had the kids don aprons that I made them (I don't do goody bags, but do like to hand-make something useful for them to take away).

They then set to work making lemonade.

Ice cream cake was the request.

Simple, cheap, and fun!
